About Us

BigFriendly.Guide is Ryan Gilliam and Jeffrey Parkin.

For a long time, we wrote guides at Polygon. We don’t anymore, but we both loved what we did. We both love playing games, and guides are our small way of making sure that more people get to share in that enjoyment. Over the years, we’ve seen how guides can hold your hand from start to finish, help you past a difficult challenge, give you the answers you can’t figure out, or even just remove the frustrations.

These days, when it feels like everything is on fire all the time and we all have less free time than we want (or deserve), we hope our guides help you out, save you time, or just make things generally easier.

Our guides will always be inclusive, accessible, friendly, and, above everything else, written by humans for humans. For now, at least, we’ll run ads to keep the lights on. We’ll never paywall our guides, but we will ask for your help from time to time. If our guides help you, please consider supporting us on Patreon or giving us a tip through ko-fi. Maybe eventually, we’ll be able to get rid of the ads and just focus on the games.
