We’re trying to do something new here at BigFriendly.Guide. Yes, we’re here to write guides and talk about video games, but we’re also hoping to build a community. That’s something Ryan and I have been set on from the start. Because guides written by humans for humans are just better โ we think so anyway, and we hope you think so too (shameless Patreon plug!).
When starting this site, we talked a lot about what makes a good guide. A few things kept coming up: don’t talk daown to people asking for help, give them all the information they need and a nudge in the right direction, just give them the answer for when they’re really frustrated, and then get out of the way.
Our goal is to be the friend (hey, that’s part of the name of the site!) on your couch next to you. When you struggle with a game or get stuck, you can lean over and we’ll tell you what worked for us. Because we’ve played every game we write about here and, chances are, we had the same struggles you did. And if we haven’t played a game, you can suggest it to us in our Discord โ our Discord that you get access to by joining our Patreon (sneaky Patreon plug!).
So, why am I getting so sentimental in a post about stickers? Because of that metaphorical couch.
Unless you’re at a particularly bad party or visiting your distant (or not-distant-enough) relatives for holidays, chances are you don’t sit on a couch with someone you hate. And chances are even better that you don’t play games with someone you hate โ unless you’re playing Nightreign and WHY ARE YOU RUNNING OFF AGAIN DON’T YOU DARE ATTACK THAT ERDTREE AVATAR WHAT ARE YOU DOING I PUT A PIN OVER THERE FOR A REASON OH GOOD WE’RE ALL DEAD NOW.
So, aside from that guy, we’re here to help. And there’s no room for hate in helping people. We’ll always do our best to be inclusive and accessible. We’ll never insult you or waste your time. We’ll write guides for you, the (presumed) human reading our stuff, and not for the algorithm. Because you’re why we’re here. You’re helping us build this place (getting desperate-sounding Patreon plug!) and we are eternally grateful that we get to share games with you.
Patreon supporters get stickers!

We officially launched this site and our Patreon (fakeout Patreon mention!) on Pride Eve, so it’s fitting that our first official merch reflect that and the community were trying to build. Join our Patreon (fooled you, Patreon plug!) at the $5 a month tier or higher, and you’ll get both of these stickers.
Because of the way Patreon ships them out, it’ll be August or so before our first patrons get them. But that’s fine โ there’s no time limit on being a BigFriendlyAlly.
We hope you like the stickers and we hope you like the site. We want to build something here that will make you proud.
Happy Pride. Celebrate the people you love. We’re glad you’re here. Now, let’s play some video games together.
